Truly excellent article and analysis. Personally, I am a little worried by how slow the Twitter Files are coming out. Nothing new for days now. This doesn't bode well. Have you seen what Jack Dorsey has been writing on these themes? https://www.getrevue.co/profile/jackjack/issues/a-native-internet-protocol-for-social-media-1503112

I just saw that! It's quite intriguing! Has Jack seen the light?

He's definitely speaking my language, though I'll admit I'm even more biased towards Matrix/Fediverse than a bluesky-related initiative.

Even if he has his own agenda/angle it's very exciting to see all the changes in this space.

Over the last year I've outlined the problems in the technology space, but in the new year I'm looking forward to a more action-oriented focus.

RE: The Twitter files: I'm very conflicted about them overall. While very little if any of it is new it is *confirmation* of a fair bit. I think one of the downsides of Elon's takeover is that is has even further solidified big tech censorship as a partisan issue. If there's one thing I'd like to somehow accomplish is figure out how to get through to the partisan left that top-down information control isn't to their interests either.
