I have been concerned about some of the notices I have been getting from substack, about what will appear on feeds and who we will see... feels like the start of a silo-ing process?
I’m seeing strange signs too. Like the new update. It curates a visually pleasing but curated list of my subs on the app home page and the rest of the home page feels like Twitter/X. Your last article brought up the SS trap and now I can’t unsee it. 🤔
Oh and I just noticed that in the app, under the mailbox icon, where all my subs do appear chronologically, the time stamp for each article has now disappeared. You can only see it in the curated section.
Thank you for writing your interesting articles. Most of the content is well beyond my computer skills but I’m learning a lot thanks to you. I do wonder if Bitcoin and other forms of cyber currency are at the mercy of those who control the internet?
I understand and agree with what you're saying, but your suggestions, for example, to have your own website, are beyond my non-techie ability. I avoided the internet for years, and certainly distrust social media. The scamdemic drew me in to search for answers and understanding. I don't like how time consuming it has become for me, but I am glad to not be in the state of confusion and fear that I was in in 2020. Your work is interesting, but I wish I knew how to implement the practical suggestions you make. Nevertheless, your take on this aspect of our lives is appreciated in the general sense. Thanks.
I'm with you on the confusion and fear, I cant say I truly appreciated the size and scope of the issues until then, despite having suspicions.
I'll admit I've largely been focused on the why and haven't gone particularly deep in the how. Part of the reason is that everyone is different and is going to want different things out of it. I have my own biases, but some are more personal than objective.
I do have parts of that problem I want to tackle, I've also been putting together resources that I've found helpful, and hoping to come up with a good way of laying them out.
But to deflate the pressure a bit, I don't think every single person needs to have their own website constantly updated every day, I just think more people taking a few extra steps to move in that direction would have a profound effect. Also, in many of my recaps I try to include links to a variety of sites "off the beaten path" to help people find more. It really is a two way street, we don't just need people to make sites we also need interesting people to visit them!
As always, I'm very happy to answer specific questions if you have any.
Unfortunately because I take much of what I know for granted, I'll admit I struggle to plot the ideal starting path for someone just starting out and I really want to improve on that.
My primary goal has been to spark interest and motivate people to start, so your feedback is very appreciated.

In ways we likely never expected it really is up to us. Technology has failed in this little bid to own what we are as humans.

Thank you!
Short answer would be yes but there's details worth expanding on.

Technology has woken a lot of people up, this shall not be! Call the locksmith!
