You have just given me a great idea. I have been obsessed with the idea of sharing and propagating "an algorithmic way of thinking" that occurs as an effect of learning to program. I have had mixed results, mostly bad, when it comes to introducing non-techie friends and family to this concept, especially if they get a glimpse of *actual code*. Same deal when trying to introduce something like emailselfdefenae.org. But the concept of teaching them GIT, specially the windows GUI version does not seem like such a tall order. I will try to do so and report results hopefully some day in the future!
It does seem like a great idea. In the late 1970s, when cheap computer became available, the public school system should have started teaching progamming in the 2nd or 3rd grades at the latest. (But then elementary school teachers would have had to learn it themselves, and that wasn't going to happen).
Now the general public is agog over "AI", without having any idea what it really is. If computers are learning to think like us, is it tool late for us to learn to think like computers, and create more of a common ground, instead of a scenario of ignorance?
Thanks for posting and sharing this very throughful and constructive post Gabriel. This is exactly the type of undertaking society needs!
Did you happen to try the MS Office substitute (https://switching.software/replace/microsoft-office/)? I've been wanting to ditch Word for so long now, but am not sure if this substitute is easy enough to adapt to. Or, which substitutes do you use and think is worthwhile?
Wow, now that was quick. I'll give it a try then! I'm also trying to migrate all Linux instead of PC/Laptops infested with the Satanic Bill Gates Microsoft OS spyware clunker.

Very interesting, and totally pragmatic and applicable as usual!

Thank you 😊
I've been using libreoffice for years!...but not the Word equivalent.
When I have used it I've used the Calc program as an Excel equivalent.
I would highly recommend giving it a try, I've heard compatibility has come a long way!
